Teacup Tuesday - Shelley Rose Bud & Some Swap Sneak Peeks

Welcome to another Teacup Tuesday....

Hosted by the lovely Terri and Martha.....

Be sure to check out Terri's Blog Here &
To see more Teacup Tuesday Participants....
You wont be disappointed!

Today I would like to introduce you to
"Shelley Rosebud"

Shelley Dainty Shaped Rosebud Cup and Saucer Trio.

This dainty bone china tea cup and saucer
are decorated with the pattern titled
“Rosebud”
Which features Handpainted Pink Rosebuds &
Pale Green Leaves on a White Background.
The rims of the cup and saucer are trimmed in Pale Green
As is the handle.

The shape of the piece is DAINTY
Unlike the previous ones that were Queen Ann Shape.
The pattern number is 13426.
This sets the dates between 1940 - 1966,
And was entered into the Shelley Pattern Book in 1940.

I hope you enjoy this pretty and feminine piece.

Wishing You All A Very Happy Easter ....

Hope that You and Yours have All Had a Blessed and Safe Easter.
And that the Easter Bunny has been and left you some yummy goodies!

I have noticed while visiting so many gorgeous blogs  in the US...
That you celebrate all events with beautiful vignettes...
We don't seem to do that in Aus.... but will confess I love the idea!
So although it is too late for this year...
I have splurged and bought a couple of little things to start my collection...

Including these gorgeous Handpainted Shabby Eggs
From

I am also hoping that lovely Rebecca from
A Gathering of Thoughts
Can make me one of these

When she gets back from holidays!

This one is the lovely and lucky Ginger's...

I am also waiting for some little parcels of Easter Goodies to arrive
To start my Lets Get Shabby Challenge...
It's not too late to join in.....

I found these Cute Little Easter Themed Kits HERE
And had ordered them just before the Challenge was Announced..

Teacup Tuesday - My Garden

Hello Again Dear Friends &
Welcome to another Teacup Tuesday!
Today I have another piece of Shelley to share with you...
A piece that is a charming example of
A time when Gardens...
And the Rest of the World
Were places of Peace & Quiet ......
And where life seemed more Genteel.....

Thinking especially of those in Moscow today....
Another View...

 This gorgeous and classic collectible
Shelly Trio in the  pattern called
"MY GARDEN".
This Trio depicts a Hand-painted Garden Scene
Of tall HOLLYHOCKS in BLUE .

With additional Pink Roses and Yellow Flowers.
Green grass melts with the Grey Transfer
Of tall tree "roots" to act as the border.

An additional Yellow Border for the Center
  Acts as a Garden Sundial.
Accented in a bright BLUE TRIM

Made in the Queen Ann Shape :)
Dating 1925-1940 with this pattern entered into the pattern book in 1928.

One of My Favorite Quotes Is
"Bloom where you are planted"
Mary Engelbreit
And it just seems to fit well with today....

A Little About Hollyhocks....
Because to be honest... I had to look them up....

Hollyhocks (Alcea rosea) are one of the oldest flowers known,
having been found by some of the earliest recorded visitors to China.
It's not surprising that the hollyhock has been a favorite for so long
with it's charming saucer-like blooms that resemble tissue paper in their delicacy.
The plant grows from 5 to 9 foot tall with the blooms measuring 3 to 5 inches across.

 A Single Bloom Blue Hollyhock

And A Pink Double Bloom Holly Hock....

Today's Color Inspiration Is
Taken From
My Garden

How Appropriate.... An Afternoon Tea Setting

A Blue Tit
No color scheme found in Nature can surely be wrong?

I know a Blue and Yellow Interior Design is probably not "In Vogue" atm
But Hey.. I could live with this .. couldn't you?

Weddings are always full of Delightful Inspiration
http://www.sheandheplanweddings.com

And Laura Ashley just makes bed look so inviting.....
Not that I really need an invitation to have a Nana Nap....

I have been exceptionally worried about Terri's health this week
The "nurse" in me coming out.... thinking of all the case scenarios...
So Terri if you are well enough to stop by and read this..
My thoughts and prayers have been with you for a speedy recovery.
And....

This Bouquet is just for You!

So don't forget to check out Martha and Terri's Blogs
To see more Beautiful Teacups this Tuesday!
I was just finishing this post
When I looked out the window into my own garden
And Honestly I couldn't believe it!!!!

A Ulysses Butterfly Fluttered Past....

So I thought it only fitting that I leave you with an image of this
Beautiful creature that is native to North Queensland....
It really is the same vibrant blue...
There is something quite magical about them...
And yes we are lucky to have them as guests in our garden quite frequently.

Thanks so much for stopping by for Teacup Tuesday
Hope to see you again soon
Bye for now
